This assignment we had to redo book cover for a 3 book set with as added book box. I decided to do 3 of the books from the Divergent Saga, books Divergent Insurgent and Allegiant created from Veronica Roth.
The Roughs
When making these roughs I really wanted to use a lot of texture and colors to show the feelings of the book. The colors represent the atmosphere of the places the books are in the most. I also was testing out different font and placements at this time as you can see in the inconsistency.
Furthering in
I decided to make the colors represented in the pictures and the abstract forms to represent the harsh environments they are going through.
I finally ended with this final copies. Stepping away from the radioactive symbol in Insurgent and having the shape interact with the text in fun ways. also creating consistency with the text per book cover.
